Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Cibbbo application and website operated by Veril Studio. The Privacy Policy, AI Policy, Community Guidelines, and Copyright Policy are part of these Terms. Please read them carefully.
By creating an account or using Cibbbo, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Cibbbo helps you discover and share recipes, track fridge and pantry inventory, scan food items using AI-assisted computer vision, get help from the Ask Cubo assistant, and connect with other home cooks.
AI detections and suggestions are estimates and may be incorrect. You are responsible for reviewing ingredients before cooking, especially for allergies, dietary restrictions, and food safety.
2. Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use Cibbbo, and we ask for your birth month and year when you sign up. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use Cibbbo with a parent or guardian’s permission.
Recipes built around alcohol are shown only to users who confirm they are 21 or older. Recipes that cook with wine, beer, or spirits are labelled “Alcohol.”
You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account; notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or misuse the Service.
3. Cibbbo Plus, Trials & Billing
Cibbbo offers a free tier and a paid subscription, Cibbbo Plus, available monthly or annually. Plus features, prices, and any promotional trial are shown in the app before you subscribe.
Free trial: eligible accounts may start one free trial (currently 3 days). If a trial converts to a paid plan, you will be charged unless you cancel before the trial ends.
Purchases made in the iOS app are billed by Apple through your App Store account and renew automatically until cancelled. Manage or cancel in your device’s subscription settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under App Store policies.
If we later offer billing on the web (for example via Stripe), separate checkout terms will be shown at purchase.
We may change subscription prices or features prospectively; changes apply from your next renewal and we will give you advance notice as required by the app store or applicable law.
Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current period except where required by law or store policy.
4. Your Content & License to Us
You retain ownership of the content you submit — recipes, photos, reviews, cookbooks, and inventory data ("User Content").
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt (for example, resizing images), publish, and display your User Content solely to operate, promote, and improve Cibbbo, including AI analysis and, when you opt in, model improvement. This license ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for content you shared publicly that others have re-shared, and copies in routine backups.
Public recipes, reviews, and profile information are visible to other users according to your visibility settings. Public recipes from verified creators may also appear on cibbbo.com with your username and photo. You are responsible for what you publish.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
5. Recipe Imports & Third-Party Content
Cibbbo lets you import recipes from third-party URLs for your personal use. You are responsible for how you use imported content and for complying with the source site’s terms.
Do not publish someone else’s creative content (recipe write-ups, photos, or substantial text) as your own. Ingredient lists and basic cooking steps are generally not protected by copyright, but descriptive text and photography usually are — see the Copyright Policy.
Third-party content, sites, and services linked from Cibbbo are not under our control and we are not responsible for them.
6. Community Guidelines & Moderation
The Community Guidelines describe what is and is not allowed on Cibbbo. By posting, you agree to follow them.
We may remove content, limit visibility, or restrict, suspend, or ban accounts that violate these Terms or the Community Guidelines. We are not obligated to pre-screen content, but we may review content that is reported or flagged.
You can report content and block users in the app. Blocking prevents a user from following you or interacting with your content.
7. Copyright & DMCA
We respect intellectual property rights and expect you to do the same. Our Copyright Policy explains how to send an infringement notice, how counter-notices work, and our repeat-infringer policy.
To report infringement, email contact@veril.studio with the details listed in the Copyright Policy.
8. Acceptable Use
Do not upload unlawful, harmful, infringing, or deceptive content, or non-food content through the scan feature.
Do not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, data-mine, overload, probe, or interfere with the app, our backend systems, or other users’ accounts.
Do not use Cibbbo to harass others, to infringe intellectual property or privacy rights, to send spam, or to misrepresent who you are.
Do not attempt to extract, misuse, or resell our AI features, or use them to generate content that violates the Community Guidelines.
9. AI Features
AI features (fridge/pantry scans, recipe suggestions, and Ask Cubo chat and voice) are governed by these Terms and the AI Policy.
AI output is generated by machine learning models and is provided "as is" without warranty of accuracy or completeness. Always review AI results before relying on them.
10. Food Safety & Health Disclaimer
Cibbbo does not provide medical, nutritional, or food-safety advice. Recipes, ingredient detections, nutrition data, and allergen information may be incomplete or wrong.
If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, always verify ingredients, labels, and preparation yourself. Do not rely on Cibbbo’s allergy filtering or AI detections as your only safeguard.
You are responsible for safe food handling, storage, and cooking, including checking expiration dates and cooking temperatures.
11. Our Intellectual Property
Cibbbo, its branding, UI, and underlying software are owned by Veril Studio or its licensors.
You may not copy, modify, or distribute the app except as permitted by applicable law or our written consent.
12. Termination & Account Closure
You may stop using the app and close your account at any time in Settings → Close my account. Closing your account deletes your recipes (including copies on cibbbo.com) and your other account data, as described in the Privacy Policy. It does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel that in your device settings.
We may suspend or terminate your access, or discontinue features, with reasonable notice where practicable — or immediately for serious or repeated violations.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (content licenses for shared content, disclaimers, limitations of liability, dispute resolution) remain in effect.
13. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VERIL STUDIO WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF CIBBBO.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR US $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Veril Studio harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your User Content, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of others.
16. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us and try to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may seek relief in small-claims court or injunctive relief for intellectual-property misuse.
17. Changes to the Service or Terms
Cibbbo is evolving; features may change, be added, or be removed. We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide notice in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
